Which one of our contestants will leave The Lodge? First, let’s do a recap of everyone’s progress:
Acacia Bough
Muscle mass: +22.2%
Body fat: -25%
This week: Acacia is making steady progress toward the finish line losing pounds and gaining muscle at a slow, steady, healthy rate.
She is always helpful, calm, professional, goal oriented, and focused. In the cooking challenge, she displayed a high level of knowledge for cooking healthy meals and making meals healthier.
In her one-on-one, she showed that she is in control of herself and knows how to handle herself in adverse situations.
Braylon Skinner
Muscle mass: +30%
Body fat: -16.6%
This week: Braylon performed very well this week showing her usual level of determination and passion; it definitely showed in her significant muscle mass gain.
In the cooking challenge, she prepared a meal that was already healthy, low in calories, and high in good fats. With that kind of knowledge, she should be able to make good eating choices in the future.
In her one-on-one, she learned that she needs to change how she sees herself and stop comparing herself to others.
Grant Parker
Muscle mass: -18.2%
Body fat: -37.5%
This week: Although Grant gained a little bit of the muscle mass he lost last week, he is still a strong contender. He lost a considerable amount of weight–the most this week–which is what matters more. If he gets to remain in the challenge, he will have plenty of time to regain that loss if he wants to.
Grant didn’t have much experience with cooking, but he understood how the dish he was able to make was healthy and its properties. Understanding what makes a meal healthy or not is a great piece of knowledge to have.
In his one-on-one, he learned that he needs to be prepared in social situations and not allow himself to succumb to peer pressure.
Jayda Pollard
Muscle mass: +20%
Body fat: -25%
This week: Jayda is also steadily gaining and losing where it is appropriate. Her light-hearted spirit and support for her teammates was notable again this week.
In the cooking challenge, she too did not have experience with cooking. However, she produced a simple yet versatile dish and explained how versatile it was and how it can be changed to suit different needs while maintaining its good properties and low calories. This kind of knowledge will do her well when she returns home to a busy household with children.
In her one-on-one, she learned how to be successful at maintaining her weight when she arrives home. She learned that she needs to get her family involved in order to not give up.
Nico Battle
Muscle mass: -12.5%
Body fat: -37.5%
This week: There seems to be a trend for the men this week, but nothing to worry about. They both lost a considerable amount of weight this week.
In the cooking challenge, Nico surprised the judges with a sweet dish that was a classic favorite. He showed how he could take a dish that would not be considered to be healthy and make it healthy. This knowledge is critical for when he goes back home.
In his one-on-one, he learned many things about himself. He learned that he needs a support system at home, and also that he needs to prioritize his own needs in order to live a less stressful life.
