I was strongly urged to do this challenge again by the awesome cecerose0208, author of Dreams & Drama Neighborhood Rotation and other cool stories. At her behest, I am doing this for my legacy story! I say behest, but I was more than glad to do this. Anytime I get to think about or talk about the Pruetts is time well spent. 🙂
The same rules apply, but as you can tell from the previous post, I’m not going to be able to pick just five. I’m not even gonna try lol. I did forget to nominate people though! I’ll do that right now.
For those who didn’t see the previous post, here are the rules, but you know…do what you want:
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Share FIVE of your favorite moments from your legacy/story/challenge so far
- Nominate up to 5 blogs to do the same.
I loved the moment Xavier realized that Stella was more than just a friend, and he had what he wanted all along. Too bad the game had other plans. I often wonder what this legacy would have been like had she not become an elder before they got married. We probably wouldn’t have had Joy and Donnovan, and without Donnie’s shenanigans, the legacy as we know it would not have existed!
RUDE!!! I remember being so afraid that Joy and Donnie would get taken by social services! I started this legacy shortly after the game released, and I didn’t know teens could live on their own in this game. So, when Joy had her birthday, I was soooooooo relieved and thought I dodged some bullet LOL.
Man…this was the first time I panicked about the storytelling. The story had been very game-driven up until this point. I just played the game and made up little stories based on how I saw the characters. This was the first time the story took me outside the realm of the game meaning it wasn’t prompted by a whim or some catalyst in the game. The story took over, and it was awesome, but I had no idea how to get out of it! Even though it was a mostly game-driven story, I liked for everything to make sense in real life, and in real life, women don’t leave their husbands and not take the child. That couldn’t happen or I would fail the challenge. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Avery died and gave me an answer.
I was sooooooooo nervous about Jayden & Maliyah’s baby being a boy! I was still exploring the game and hadn’t gotten into cc or mods yet, so I had no way of know what the baby would be. I don’t think EA gave us the apples and strawberries trick yet. When little Brandon came out, I was like soooooo relieved! I don’t know what I would have done if he was a girl. I couldn’t come up with a scenario where Maliyah would have willingly gotten pregnant again lol.
Like you guys, I love everything Bianca and Giancarlo! I still do! I loved Bianca finally allowing herself to be open and own her feelings for Giancarlo. I think, for me, this was the turning point of generation five. Originally, they were going to fall in love, have some kids, and get their own place. I never intended for them to be in the spotlight for the rest of their lives, but they were just so special to me! I couldn’t help it. It was totally dope to have our Jasmine come in at that moment to dance to the “rhythms of love.” 😀
I honestly hated breaking up Brandon’s marriage. I didn’t want to have marriage troubles for two generations in a row, but Amira had to go. Most of you agreed lol. My only regret is not getting rid of her sooner!
I was totally rooting for Melody when she finally told the twins about their father! Things didn’t completely work out with Paxton the way I wanted them to, but I always intended for Mel to tell them everything. I wanted for them to meet at some point in their lives, but it couldn’t work that way with his role in another story. So, this chapter was my way of letting you all know we would never see him again. But anyway, I love how this moment kind of propelled her into a more positive space which lead the way to…
*SQUEE!* Melody finally got her man! Definitely one of my favorite moments in the story! I love second chances.
Bahahahaha! Forget this moment, this whole chapter was awesome! Alayna and Devan are still one of my favorite mother-son duos if not the favorite. He was such an innocent, funny kid who grew up to be funny, curious and little bit horny lol. And poor Alayna was just a bit overbearing although she was more talk than anything.
This moment is from Brady and Viv’s wedding. I loved it for several reasons. First of all, moments like this reaffirmed to me over and over again what an awesome decision it was for me to transform the kitchen and dining room into an eat-in kitchen! The family dinners were always an important part of this family, but they became a cornerstone in generation eight because of the remodel. Many great moments were had around that table. Secondly, I loved how they all took a moment to officially welcome Viviana into their family. They didn’t have to do that, but it was a nice touch. Finally, I was so elated that my Brady FINALLY had someone who truly loved him! I was afraid he would never find anyone, but thank God I found Viv in the gym flirting with him. I didn’t even know she existed!
Oh-em-goodness! I swore I would never have another hospital birth ever again LOL. Alayna’s pregnancy was so timely. She was due to give birth shortly after I got Get to Work. I was so excited to go to the hospital with her and experience what that was all about. Boy did I change my tune! The name of this chapter was “Trauma Drama” because it was a traumatic experience for me! LOL the doctor couldn’t get control of the machine, and Alayna was so scared. I saw her little legs wiggling at the other end, and I felt so sorry I put her in that position lol. I swore I’d never go back to the hospital, but then I kept hearing of even more traumatic experiences like Sims’ hearts being extracted! The curious part of me had to find out how many scenarios there were, so I kept going to the hospital lol.
Ok, so I love all Alayna-Devan moments LOL. But I really love this one! For the longest time, I didn’t know what to do with this set of pictures. I honestly don’t remember why I took them. Probably because I thought it was interesting that she just stood there staring at him like that. When it came time to write, I ask myself what she was thinking, and that’s how the entire chapter came up. I loved her thoughts because, on the inside, she was not as strong and confident as she purported to be, and apparently many mothers are the same way…and I thought it was so perfect that this chapter came out on a mother’s day. I loved Devan’s thoughts because it showed that he really was a mama’s boy even though he grew up closer to his father and he acted like he was his own person.
I loved doing this crossover with SummerFalls!! I’m glad he suggested because it was so perfect. Naturally, their relationship was contrived between the two of us, so when they finally met in real life, they were strangers to each other. But, luckily, these two Sims were meant for each other because they became very fast friends with very little prompting from either of us on our respective hard drives. Their romantic relationship skyrocketed as easily and quickly as their friendship meter too! I hate that I had to break Alayna’s heart because they ran away, but it had to be done. My only regret with their story was I waited too long to start it. Well, I did and I didn’t. I didn’t have the capacity to start another story at the time, so it was good that I did, but I think the moment was lost by the time they finally came around. I think about getting back into them sometimes seeing as how there are currently like 15 unwritten chapters lol. We’ll see!
Eeeeeeek! Hot Tub Magic!! I often go back and read this chapter. It was so fun…and frustrating!! I am often evil to you guys. This was one of those moments LOL.
Jeannette walking away from Julian was a defining moment in his life…even though it took him forever to figure it out. I love it when my characters have defining moments.
I had never experienced an abduction before, so I was very nervous about Callie returning pregnant lol. I later found out that only males can have alien babies from abductions. Oh well. At least we got a good chapter from my nervousness lol.
This was another epic crossover I did with OhRenSims. Just like Devan and Leliana, Dexter and Sasha easily became fast friends and lovers in both of our games. It’s so cool how some Sims have great chemistry while others…oy…not so much! It was one thing to have Sasha leave our story to go join someone else’s. But, it was another thing for her to leave our story, go to someone else’s, and be a freakin legacy spouse!! I want all my Sims to have good, fulfilling lives, but it’s simply not possible for me to achieve that for them. So, I love when opportunities like this come around. So epic!
HA! That is all. lol
Nah. So, I had a very short amount of time to show Jonathan’s character before having his life turned upside down by meeting the perfect girl. I figured giving him a lackadaisical attitude about the legacy and showing how irresponsible he was by clubbing all night and coming home drunk on a school night would do the trick.
“Sup, meatball! This is my little cousin, Derek.”
“I’m not little!”
“Only little cousins complain about not being little,” Jonathan said.
“Hello, little cousin Derek. I’m Tony Corleonesi. I haven’t decided if you can call me meatball yet.”
I mean…come on! #gold
LOL
Juliette is my alter ego LOL. I always thought I had a pretty good handle on her character until this incident with Arjun. I think that’s when she really came alive for me, and all of her sarcasm and snark came from some place and had a purpose.
I won’t say I always intended for Janessa to become interested in monogamy, but like her parents, it’s what I wanted for her. However, I let her decide what she wanted while creating this seed of doubt in her mind in the story. She rolled the whim for Aldo to be her boyfriend, so that’s where this chapter came from. I have a problem with the repetitive nature of this game as it relates to the serial romantic aspiration. All Sims with a significant romance bar with another Sim will eventually want to become exclusive with them. Because of that, all serial romantics eventually want to get married, but I don’t think that should be the case. Sometimes these Sims are so cookie cutter, and I don’t like it.
I loved this moment between Skylathan. They had gotten engaged, and he moved her into the Estate, but then Julian died and he was a mess. I loved how she tied this moment back to a quasi-promise she made when they were teenagers. They were talking about surviving, and Jonathan said he hoped when it was time for him to survive that he would have a wife to survive with. She said she believed he would have someone to survive with. In this chapter, she reminded him of this.
he he he, the best memory about this scene was shooting this picture at the right angle lol.
I loved it when Jonathan realized what exactly was going on and that Tony really did screw him. And not only did he screw him, but it was a planned event! That whole chapter was awesome to me. I was so excited (and scared) to publish it because I wanted you guys to finally know what I had been cooking up for about six months lol.
I don’t need to say too much about the moment with the lilies. 😀 Pruetts don’t exist without them!
So fun to see those memories ! And thanks for the nomination !
You’re welcome!
Tony meeting little cousin Derek is legendary. I think Derek’s hair made it even more hilarious. 😀
Jonathan and the lilies, I remember that one very well, I thought it was a powerful moment.
I love the memories you chose! It’s so much fun to remember what happened. <3 Thank you so much for the nomination!
Im looking forward to seeing which moments you choose! I have a date with Blue next week too.
Woot! Awesome! 😀
I’m tickled that you went ahead and did this even before I did my post nominating you to do it, lol.
These memories were so amazing. I loved most of your legacy spouses. Most. I still remember Amira’s exit. Such an interesting thing to see happen in a legacy story. And for her son to still get married after?? Well, that was really something.
Oh! Sorry LOL. I didn’t realize I was supposed to wait. Yeah, Lance was one of the few who took the good advice and learned from it. He started a new trend lol. Well except with his son Owen.
Lol, you didn’t have to wait. Think of it like an awards show when they already know who the winner is before it’s announced. You had time to write your speech, pick a dress that won’t make you trip up stairs, etc. 😉
LOL nice save!
Thanks Jes!
I’ll come up with something over the next week, as I try to think on things that stand out above the others 🙂
Weeeee!
