J2G – The Proposition

It was great to interview Nico. I’m glad I got to learn more about him. He’s a really great guy! On one hand, I feel better about asking him to be on this new show because I could potentially be helping him get what he really wants. But at the same time, it still feels a bit underhanded. Oh well. Let’s get this show on the road.

“You were, great, Nico!”

“Oh, thanks. I’m glad you think so.”

“Listen… Before you go, I need to discuss something with you. Can we sit at the table?” Here we go…

He looked a bit surprised. “Yeah, sure. Everything all right?”

I swallowed a lump in my throat. “Of course. I just want to ask you something…business stuff. I’ll feel more business-like at the table, heh.”

“I got ya.”

We got up and headed over to the conference area of my new studio space. I guess it did come in handy. Of course, Jes2G has had this planned all along. But…I’m going to try to forget about that. I have a business to run.

Nico really is a gentleman. He pulled out my chair for me! I hope one day soon Braylon will be able to see this side of him…and she appreciates it.

I know he’s waiting on me to say something. Gosh. I’m probably making him feel weird. Why does this whole thing make me weird? Just spit it out, Jess!

“So… I know this is probably the last thing you want to hear, but we have an idea for a new show that we would love for you to be on. Do you think you could handle more life in front of the camera?”

“Uhhh…I dunno. I guess it depends. What kind of show?”

“Kinda like a ‘where are they now’ type thing. The only way I can describe it is like documentary style…if that makes any sense.” Of course it doesn’t make any sense. We don’t even have the thing planned yet!

“I think I kinda get it.”

“So, as you know, many of the viewers are fans of yours and want to see how your life progresses after boot camp. Actually…we’ll be following two of you…” That was so evil of me. I kind of want to laugh.

His interests is clearly piqued. “Oh? Who’s the other person?”

“I shouldn’t tell you. I don’t want to appear like I’m trying to influence you one way or another.”

Uh oh. Why is he smiling? Oh crap…he knows! I didn’t say anything. Maybe I don’t have to. I suck at this. Well, I guess this means he’s in? Don’t give it away yet though.

“I know you probably wondering about the timeline, and I assure you we’re not doing this like next month. We know you both need time to get back into your routines and stuff. Frankly, we don’t even have everything thought out yet, so we won’t be getting started anytime soon. But, I just wanted to put it out there for you to consider. We’ve got a commitment from the other person…” Shameless. Just shameless! “Will you think about it and let me know?”

He looked away and thought about it for about 15 seconds. “Well… I don’t have anything else going on right now. And, you know what they say… If you do one reality show, you’ll do two.”

“Ha! Is that what they say for real?”

“I heard someone on TV say that once.”

“So, you’ll do it? You’re in?”

“I’m in.”

“Great!”
