After school, Melody invited Paxton over to have some company. Because she didn’t actually witness her father’s death, she wasn’t as affected by it as Bianca and Allen were. But, she had some lingering sadness from the funeral the previous night.
“Thanks for coming. I feel so alone since my dad died.”
“Alone? With all these people in this house? How does that work?”
“I don’t know! That’s how I feel, Paxton.”
“If it makes you feel any better, I never knew my parents! So, at least you had a father who loved you. Even for just a short while. I’d give anything to experience that.”
“See, Paxton! You understand me! I’m so in love with you right now!”
“Are you sure about that? I am P. Churchill. I’m like a pain pill. Once you start poppin’ ’em, ain’t no stopping ’em! I’m addictive.”
“Oh, I hope so!”
A few hours later, Brandon went to tend the garden. He usually let Cadence do it, but she was busy with her homework. Amira decided to help. She was hoping that some how that would strike some demerits off her record with him.
“Lance started his job today,” Brandon announced.
“Oh that’s great! I wish he would have told me.”
“He lost his uncle, hon. I’m sure it wasn’t even on his mind,” he said with a little attitude.
“Oh. Right. Well, I guess we’ll have to wait until tomorrow then.”
“No, he will be home at 11:00. We’ll tell them tonight.”
“Allen should be in bed by then.”
“He’ll be up.”
I restate my earlier comment.
Also…Paxton. I. Just. Can’t. At least he’s cute!
soo cute!
Paxton reminds me of a quote from Seinfeld.
“Then, after a period of being “there for you”, we slowly remove the two words “for you”, and we’re just “there”.”
Already in her system.
Oh yes.
“…I’m like a pain pill. Once you start poppin’ ’em, ain’t no stopping ’em…” LMAO love this so much!
Hahaha Paxton!! He makes me smile.
As for Amira. Bye bye sweetheart!!!
