Chapter 13 – No Words
Harriett attempts to smooth things over with Juliana, but she is still very upset.
Juliana Sepulveda had just turned 18 years old when she was shipped off to Willow Creek against her will. This was her mother’s last attempt to save at least one of her children’s lives. Juliana had no place to stay, no money, very few possessions, and did not speak the language well. How could she ever survive on her own?
Harriett attempts to smooth things over with Juliana, but she is still very upset.
As Harriett begins to see Juliana more as part of the family, she thinks fixing her up with her son would be a good idea. It was a bad idea.
Hey folks! I feel bad about not having a chapter out today, so let’s do something else! I’m feeling the spirit of Discovering Juliana today, so instead of reading about...
Juliana and Harriett have been hanging tight with the Simlish lessons. Juliana is even reading a little now!
Meet Jase Templeton, Hillary’s childhood best friend and lifelong admirer.
Harriett begins the huge task of teaching Simlish to Juliana. What has she gotten herself into? Can she really pull it off?
Juliana goes to Harriett for help and gets more than she bargained for.
Juliana spent another night outdoors, alone and afraid, unsure of what to do next. As she recalled her reason for being in this situation, she found the courage to take matters into her own hands and get the help she needed.
Finally, we meet Juliana and learn more about what makes Harriett tick.
Here are a few pics from the Humphries’ family photo album from before Blake’s death.
Part 2 of the fifth day of retirement. Harold and Harriett finally make it to the garden and Axel’s house.
Harriett made one last attempt to connect with Harold before she wrote him off, but she had to bribe him. If he agreed to visit the community garden with her, then they could stop by their son’s house on the way back. But, before they could even get to that, Harriett had to get through one of his mean streaks.
Harriett tries twice more to get Harold out of the house. The last time is the most successful, but still unsuccessful.
On the second day of Harold’s retirement, Harriett took him to the museum. That excursion didn’t end well either.
Harriett Humphries finally gets her husband out of the house to enjoy retirement although he was always so reluctant to leave the house. They see one of their children in the park and have an unfortunate encounter that makes her question where she went wrong with them.
