The venue was beautiful. Between the emotions she already had from the excitement of her wedding day finally arriving and beauty around her, she was overwhelmed and needed to step away for a moment. However, she was always on his radar, and he eventually came looking for her.
“There you are,” he said. “I was afraid you ran off or something.”
“Heh, cute. You know I’d never run away from you.”
“Are you ok?”
“I’m fine. Everything is just so beautiful, and…this day…I’ve been dreaming about it for a long time, and now…I just needed a minute to gather myself.”
“It’s pretty incredible, right? Speaking of incredible…Jeannette, you’re so beautiful! I mean like, extraordinarily gorgeous!”
She blushed. “Thank you, Julian. You’re quite handsome yourself.”
“Heh, all I’ve done is put on a tux and took off my glasses.”
“I’ve always wanted to see you in a tux,” she said with a wink. “And you’re really cute without your glasses.”
“Hey, you two,” Viviana yelled. “The party is inside!”
“I guess we’d better get in there,” Julian said.
Julian made his rounds with Jeannette on his arm to all their guests thanking them for coming and introducing her to those who had not met her yet. He noticed that Alayna didn’t make it and assumed she and the girls were still grieving. For a small moment he was disappointed, but then he felt sorry and hoped that they would soon be able to come out of their grief.
When they had seen everyone, Viviana decided to get some alone time with her son. “How are you feeling, Julian?”
“I’m awesome, mom! This venue is beautiful, my soon-to-be wife is beautiful, and most my favorite people are here! Could this day be any more perfect?”
“I don’t think it could,” Viviana said. “I’m glad you’re happy. I’m happy for you two. You know I’m proud of you too, right?”
“Of course!”
“I love you, my son! Let’s say we get this ceremony started, huh?”
“That is an excellent idea. I’ll grab Jeannette, and you get everyone else to join us.”
And they did just that. Julian and Jeannette stood below the wedding arch and waited for everyone to get seated.
He took her by the hands and said, “I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I just can’t get over how beautiful you are! The Watcher must really love me to put such a wonderful person in my life. I’m so lucky!”
There wasn’t much she could say as she fought back tears–she didn’t want to ruin her makeup, of course. She looked up to the sky and smiled, silently thanking the Watcher. The families began to trickle in, and Jeannette looked out to find her mother. She loved the Pruett family, but all she really needed was Julian, her mother and brother. Everyone else was the topper on the cake.
“Are we getting started or what,” Brady asked Viviana who was hovering in the back.
“Go ahead. I’m gonna watch from here,” she said.
A thought came to her as she was going to her seat, and a sudden wave of sadness halted her movement. It occurred to her why Anthony was attending the wedding alone. Tears welled up in her eyes as she thought about Alayna. She was the sister Viviana never had. She taught her how to cook and care for her children. Viviana would not be the same person had it not been for Alayna’s tutelage. She had to be sure of what she was feeling. When Anthony walked by to take a seat, she pulled him aside. She didn’t quite know how to ask him, but her tears spoke for her. Anthony lowered his head, and she knew.
“Don’t tell anyone until tomorrow, please. I don’t want to ruin the party,” he said.
She nodded her head, and he gently squeezed her arm in support and took his seat. She decided to remain in the back so no one could see her crying.
“Jeannette, I give you this ring as a symbol of my commitment to love, honor, and respect you. I take you as my wife to share all that I have and all that I am until there is no breath in me. May my heart be your shelter, and my arms be your home. May we walk together through all things, and may you always feel deeply loved.”
Jeannette’s vows: “I give you this ring in pledge of my love and devotion. I take you as my husband to have and to hold until death. May this ring forever be to you the symbol of my undying love for you.”
And then they kissed.
They embraced each other and were happy, and relieved, to be married at last.
Alayna, you are forever in our hearts. You were one of the most amazing and accomplished Sims I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Thank you for being you!
I realized that I didn’t take any good pictures of Jeannette! So, here is my absolutely favorite CAS pic of her wedding look.
The vows are adapted versions of some vows I saw on http://www.weddedyourway.com/ring-vows.html
I shed a tear for Alayna! I can’t believe she’s gone. But…she was getting old!
The wedding was beautiful. And that venue *gushes*
Makes me want to build a new one for Av if she ever decides she wants that kind of place…
Anywho…beautiful ceremony! Truly. Perfect for these two.
Love to you and all the Pruetts. Alana is one of those one of a kind Sims. There won’t be another like her and we’ll remember her always .
Thank you. Yes. There will never another Alayna!
Thanks 🙂 Yes. There will never be another Alayna…unless Devan names his daughter after her 😉 Even then, she won’t be the same.
You know, I was thinking about that… I was on my nook, so it was awkward to type developed thoughts, but I was thinking how her qualities will continue through the generations. She will give her special qualities to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. And big hugs to you, Jes. I know she was a special Sim for you. <3
So special. I’m glad I didn’t actually see her go, but at the same time I wish I could have been there too.
I know what you mean. With the last few departures I’ve seen, there’s been a real beauty to them and I love to see how Sims choose to spend their last day.
Jeanette is gorgeous!
Poor Alayna. /cry
I cried… Again. So sad about Alayna. I feel like all my favourite sims in the Pruett family are dying. Owen, Alayna, Roland. I’d probably be bursting into tears if Callie died, because my name is Callie, short for Calista. Anyway, amazing chapter as always. Btw, I got your reply saying you couldn’t find the post on my site. Tbh, I thought that would happen. It’s no surprise. I’ll figure it out. Someday. Lol
Thank you! Yeah, these deaths are really sad this time around. Really sad.
My heart is breaking into pieces. Happy pieces and sad pieces. What will we do without Alayna?? :'( I am so full of grief about this… out of ALL of your sims in the Pruett Legacy, I have a handful of favorites and she is definitely one of them. Jasmine, Bianca, GNC, Lance, Alayna, Callie, & Sasha will always be my favorites from your legacy.
She’s in my top 5 too. Maybe #2!
A box of tissues were needed for this one. For Alana and for the wedding. A beautiful chapter.
Thank you
I will really miss Alayna! And Ah! This wedding was beautiful! The venue is gorgeous. This was a great chapter. Also, I especially like that next to last picture with them pulling away from each other and the confetti and the water fountain. Everything about this chapter was beautiful.
Thank you!
I loved the wedding! Alayna… I cried.
How beautiful… Yet sad too. Alayna will be missed!
Sorely
This was so sad and beautiful at the same time… Finally they’re married but Alayna’s gone. Now I fear for Brady :`(
Thank you! Oh the triplets. They were epic!
