The next day was interesting. Mia came by as per usual, but she was very angry. Cadence invited her in and tried to figure out why she was so mad.
“Mommy keeps yelling at us!”
Cadence was very alarmed at her answer. True, Melody had always had drama going on, but it wasn’t like her to yell–especially not at her children. Either something else was going on, or the girls weren’t being as sweet and innocent as they claimed.
“What?? Why is she yelling?”
“Because we keep asking her about daddy when she said not to.”
She loved the innocence children had at this age, and she quietly laughed a little.
“Ok, sweet pea…but, if mommy asked you not to ask her about him, then why do you keep asking?”
“Because we want to know!”
“I get that. But, if someone asked you to do something, and you agree to it, then you need to do it. If you don’t, the other person will get mad…like mommy. Does that make sense?”
“I guess so. But…she said that if we promise not to ask her anymore she tell us about him. How will she know when to tell us?”
“Trust me…she will know. So, you’re going to stop asking her now, right?”
“Ok.”
“Good. I’ve got mac ‘n cheese. You want some?”
“Of COURSE I would! Mac ‘n cheese makes everything better.”
“It sure does. Go sit down. I’ll grab you a plate.”
Just then, Marli showed up, and Cadence was in auntie heaven.
“Hey,” Mia yelled. “What are you doing here?”
“Same reason you’re here.”
“Marli, do you want some mac ‘n cheese,” Cadence asked.
“No, thank you, Aunt Cadence,” she said in a sing-song voice.
“Ok. I’m gonna grab a plate and join you out here then.”
She went inside to grab a serving of leftovers and joined her younger niece on the porch.
“So…how do you like school,” she asked, purposefully avoiding anything that would bring up the d word.
“Aunt Cadence…do you know who our daddy is?”
It didn’t work. Oh boy, she thought. How am I going to get myself out of this one?
“Ummm…yeah, of course I know who he is.”
“Does he live near here?”
“He did at one point. I don’t know if he still does.”
“What is he like?”
“Ummmm…look, Marli…if your mommy isn’t ready to tell you about him, then I don’t think I should either. I think you should learn about him from her, ok? Just be patient. She’ll tell you all about him one day.”
“Ok.”
Douche bag isn’t even around anymore, and he’s still causing trouble!
Cameron, who is a music lover, took up the guitar and was already at level five and quite good. Cadence loved listening to him. It reminded her of her father and how she missed hearing music in the house.
“Hey maestro…let’s talk when you’re done practicing.”
When he finished that song, he put the guitar back in the stand and joined his wife on the ottoman.
“What’s up, baby,” he said.
“I’ve been thinking about what you said, and I think you’re right. We should get started on our family.”
“You’re going to be an excellent mom. I see how you are with your nieces. You’re a natural!”
“Thanks. I’m glad you think that. So…would you be opposed to getting started right now?”
“Heck no! Let’s go!!”
They went in the back of the house to their room and had a very fun night. In the morning, she went into the bathroom to confirm her suspicions about her condition.
She was right.
Oh yeah…THIS part, she said as she felt some nausea coming on. She ran in the kitchen to share the news with her husband. He was very excited.
Later that night after Lance got home from work, his wife shared the big news, not that she needed to because it was very obvious what they had done.
“I love you soo much, Myra Pruett. You have made me soo happy in soo many different ways. I can’t believe this is finally happening!”
Lots of babies!! Yay
I decline to comment on that!! Lol
Darn. Thought maybe I could get you to cough up some info!
Lol
I had an interesting reaction to reading this. I instinctively clicked to like and/or comment on a photo and the conversation about their “Sim donor”. I take it as a sign of the level of engagement I have with your story. In my head, it kind of runs like a dramatic television series. I guess that’s a kudos to you!
Thank you!
Eh, these Pruetts do everything together. Marry, make babies, die. I wonder if they ever tire of all of this togetherness.
Cadence and Cameron are still my favourite couple. I think I can relate to them the most 🙂
They are pretty cute.
You are exactly right Mia! Mac and cheese is awesome!!
Also I agree with Cameron that Cadence will make a great mom!!
And awwww Myra and Cadence preggers together! Noooobooooos!!!! ❤️
😀 Lots’o fun to be had! And? There is no life without mac and cheese!!
Completely agree. Mac makes the world go ’round!
