A week or so after the Pitts’ returned from the honeymoon, Melody had a great idea, but she wasn’t sure how River would take it.
“What are you over there thinking about,” River asked.
“Well…”
“…I was thinking we should…move.”
“Ok. But, why?”
“Well, you’re the head of this family now, but this is my house, and it will always be my house no matter how we look at it. That might get old to you after a while. I think we should get something together so it can be our house. Besides, this house isn’t right for us anymore. It was perfect when I had two little girls, but those days are long gone, and we have different needs now.”
“You don’t have to keep selling me on it, Bae. I agree! Let’s do it.”
“I want whatever is going to make you happy…and, yes…this house is a bit small for all four of us. Just think, the girls’ birthday is in a few days. They can’t stay in those rooms forever.”
“Right! I’m so glad we’re on the same page. Ok…well, I was out running in a different neighborhood yesterday, and I saw the perfect house. I know we probably should have went and looked at it together, but I’m in love with it! Can you go look at tomorrow and let me know what you think?”
“Sure. Where is it?”
“It’s actually right across the street from where we got married! If we buy it, we can spend the rest of our lives looking at it and remembering that blessed day. Wouldn’t that be romantic?”
River laughed at her. He thought it was cute how much she was trying to convince him on this house. He already told her that he was interested.
“Wow…you must be really doing well at work because you’re really selling this thing! I don’t need a view of the garden to remind me of our wedding day, Bae. Every morning that I wake up next to you is reminder enough! Just text me the address in the morning and I’ll go check it out.”
“Thanks, Riv! I hope you love it as much as I do. I know you will.”
The next morning, River arose early to make breakfast for his ladies. When they were all gone, he worked out, went fishing, and then he went to go see the house mid-afternoon.
It was a bit bigger than he was expecting, and was much different from his style preferences, but he liked the way it looked. It had character. Besides, now that he had been to the Pruett Estate, he knew this house was more of what Melody was used to and he wanted her to be comfortable and have everything she wanted. He definitely liked the neighborhood. It had been a long time since he dwelt among any town’s upper crust. The real estate agent let him in to explore on his own.
And the pieces de resistance…
River was already sold with the private balcony and fenced in yard, but the backyard lake sealed the deal for him. He always wanted to be able to fish from his own property when he got older. Once he was in the house, he saw that it was very cozy and not as big as it looked from the outside. As a matter of fact, it was the perfect size for them. He thought the living room could be a bit bigger, but that was nothing rearranging furniture or even a small renovation couldn’t fix. He thought the blue and yellow room would be perfect for Mia because it had a computer in it. She would need her own to write jokes and comedy routines. The red room was perfect for Marli because it already had a guitar in it! It was almost as if this house were made for them, and he took it as a sign. He didn’t even call Melody. He just made an offer. Within minutes, his offer was accepted and the house was theirs! Melody and the girls didn’t have anything too precious at home, so he immediately put the house on the market and included all the furniture. He sent the girls a text saying to get off the bus at this address. He also called Melody to let her know how much he loved the house and that it was theirs. She was very very excited.
When the girls got home, they immediately went on a self-guided tour and were so happy about their new home. Before they started their homework, they had dinner.
“This house is sick,” Marli said.
“Oh yeah…I’m awesome,” she continued. “I totally got us this house!”
“How did you get us this house?”
“I got them married, didn’t I?”
“Like you did all the work!”
“I did a lot of work! I deserve a raise.”
“You’re a nut.”
Perfect. 🙂
Did you build it? That Spanish style of exterior (or whatever style it is) is one style have definitely not got the hang of yet in my builds. I might have to try it again sometime though. I love their new house.
Oh no lol. That’s one of the houses in Oasis Springs in the Langraab’s neighborhood. I’m not that talented LOL.
Wonderful house. I’m so happy for them and they look like the perfect family around the dinner table. So when’s Riv Jr. coming? lol
HA! You know…River got that whim at the party, and I was like naw shawty…not this time LOL.

Sorry…”the party” is a reference to tomorrow’s post. My bad.
Oh, I know this house all too well. lol
Marli very sure of herself. I like it.
