Here she is! The happiest day of her life. The day she had always dreamed of: the day she became Mrs. Melody C. Something-or-other. And there he is. Also the happiest day of his life. The day he had dreamed of for some time after being jilted by a Sim who did not know what she had. But all things work together for good, and everyone was certainly glad about this day.
River’s first order of business: dancing with his soon-to-be wife on the stage in front of everyone.
Everyone let them have their first dance before they all crowded the dance floor.
Everyone was having a good time dancing, drinking, and socializing. Melody loved the way this venue looked just before dusk and thought that would be the perfect time to get married for the sake of the pictures, but she didn’t want to break up the party. But, shortly after dusk, they wanted to get the show on the road.
“Are you ready to do this, Bae?”
“Oh yeah. I’m so ready!”
“You look gorgeous in that white dress.”
“You don’t look half bad yourself.”
“Melody Christina Sheridan, I take you as my wife to have and to hold in sickness and in health, and nothing but death can separate us. Do you believe that?”
“I do. And I agree!”
“Well…I think that makes us married then!”
River saluted his bride, and everyone cheered and looked on in awe. There was not a dry eye in the place. Well…there were a few dry eyes, but not many.
Everyone was cheering and throwing rice, but Mr. and Mrs. Pitts didn’t see or hear a thing. They were finally together! Finally able to share their innermost feelings with each other without wondering if the other was ready to receive it. But most importantly, they were healed and free from their pasts. History can never be erased, but the pain was behind them.
Just as they decided to come up for air and join everyone else, Melody needed to say something.
“Riv, I…I love you. I haven’t told you that yet. I’ve known it, and I’ve thought it many times, but I never said it. I love you!”
“I know you do, or you wouldn’t be here; But it’s sure good to hear! Say it again.”
“I love you.”
“…one more time.”
“I love you! I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you.”
“I love you too…more than life!”
After they finished professing their love for each other, Melody went to retrieve the first slice of cake for them to share. It was the first cake she ever baked, and it was actually quite good.
The Pitts’ rejoined their guests to do a little dancing and thank them for coming. It began to get late, and Melody was ready to get home.
“Don’t look so tired, Mrs. Pitts. We have a honeymoon to get to.”
“You planned a honeymoon?? When did you do all of this?”
“I never kiss and tell. Come on. We need to get you home to pack if we plan on checking in before midnight.”
“I can’t believe you!”
They said goodnight to their guests and went to Melody’s house. River gave her a few clues about where they were going so she would bring the appropriate outfits and then they got on the road. When they arrived, Melody couldn’t believe where she was.
“A cabin the woods,” she said with a little excitement mixed with a little hesitation.
“This is the nicest most expensive one bedroom cabin in the place. We are going to have the most glorious three days of solitude, fresh air, relaxation, and togetherness…and it all begins right now.”
Yay!!!! A wedding and a honeymoon. Perfect timing for outdoor retreat to come out wasn’t it? A secluded cabin in the mountains is a dream vacation to me.
Yeah! It definitely made up for that fishing date that went bust lol. I have been planning (but not planning) a week in the mountains alone for years. I’m too chicken I guess lol.
Congrats, Mel and River! <3
Yay!!! So beautiful and romantic. I love them together. This is a great update. Made me smile inside and out, (now that I’ve read it and know it exists. Heh).
They are so cute!!! I can’t wait to see what happens during the honeymoon.
Aw, so much love in such a short post. Alright Mel and River!
I think that this was possibly the sweetest chapter I’ve read, with the exception of anything concerning Bianca and Giancarlo. They’re still my favorites, but these two are also very sweet.
Now I’m sitting here sobbing over Giancarlo again… I just miss him so much…
Yes! They’re still my favs too. They live again in another story…which is currently on hold, but they’re alive and well in F.I.S.H. which is a spin off story for these two crazy kids lol.
So. sweet 🙂 It was awesome to finally see Mel happy
Isn’t it? I love them so much. Every now and then I come back to these chapters and read their story over and over 😀
Just beautiful. And a honeymoon in Granite Falls sounds exactly like what River would have come up with 🙂
Yep! I bought it specifically for that purpose lol. The timing was perfect!
SO Happy!!!! It was a GREAT wedding these two go down as one of my fav couples next to Bianca and Giancarlo.
Mine too!
